What are your goals for this year? What do you want to look back on and be proud you achieved this year?

Here are my top tips for making your 2020 goals achievable

1- Make them positive

Leave the negative thoughts behind and create positive goals. A positive thought process will make your goals much easier to achieve. For example ‘I want to drink more water, vs I will not drink fizzy drink’ or ‘I want to fit a certain piece of clothing vs I want to lose 5kg’s'.

2- Start small

Break your goals down into small, achievable amounts, instead of big and unrealistic goals that are less likely to be achieved. For example ‘I want to drink extra 2 glasses of water a day’ vs ‘I want to drink 2L of water a day’.

3- Do it with friends and family

Make it a shared a goal, that you can achieve together. You can motivate each other.

4- Have a variety of goals

Do not just focus on one thing eg losing weight, create a variety of goals which could be health, financial, family, wellness and so on.

5- Keep a diary of your progess

Keeping a track of how you are going and reviewing your goals can help keep you motivated. Don’t get down if you don’t achieve the goals fully but adapt and keep going.
